Is there some kind of trick to tracing PDF files in incscape? I swear I have done it before now I can't seem to get it to trace. Can anyone help me with this?

Some PDF files are bitmap images, and some contain vectors. The vector ones need to be ungrouped/cleaned up as needed for cutting in SCAL and the bitmap PDF files can be traced like any other bitmap. If your PDF won't trace, then it is probably already a vector.

I have a tutorial on my blog on how to use Inkscape to change a vector PDF into an SVG. HTH
